INTRODUCTION

We offer an extensive curriculum, which tries to offer all pupils the opportunity to experience a range of activities.

At KS3, pupils have two 1 hour lessons, and non GCSE pupils in Years 10 and 11 have one.  Pupils can also opt to study GCSE PE at KS4.  A wide range of extra curricular clubs and fixtures are offered throughout the year.

At KS4, "Lack of Exercise can seriously damage your Health"   This course aims to address this statement and to teach you about how the body changes when exercising.  Pupils who opt to study PE at examination level will complete the following units.  All pupils will begin the full course GCSE.

KEY STAGE 3

During KS3, pupils have the opportunity to study five of the six National Curriculum - Games, Gym, Dance, Athletics and OAA in Year 7.

Units of work are studied for between 6 - 8 weeks.  Year 7 - 9 also follow a unit on fitness.

Year 9 PHSE lessons also incorporate "step into sport", which assists pupils with the JSLA programme at KS4.

Health Warning!

These courses are not all about practical work.  The theory content for these courses is challenging and will be the same workload as any other GCSE/BTEC subject.  You will be expected to attend at least ONE extra-curricular club a week.
