Message from the Headteacher

Monday 27 March 2017

In the last week before our Easter break it feels as though Spring has sprung.  I hope that all our readers enjoyed Mothering Sunday and our thoughts and prayers are with those for whom this was a difficult time.

This week Year 11 art students undertake the second and last of their formal examination days for their final piece and Year 10 students finish the last two days of their mock examinations.  Parents and carers of Year 11 students are reminded that there is a Mathematics revision session for ALL students during the Easter holiday on Tuesday 11 April from 9.30am to 1.30pm.  Please see email sent to all parents and carers or students should speak to their Mathematics teacher for further details.

This week we welcome students and staff from our Dutch partner school, RSG Slingerbos. As well as visiting lessons, they will undertake an extended piece of research with some of our Year 10 students.  This link, to a selective school for languages forms part of our work to connect with schools beyond our local area, in order to develop breadth to the experiences of education for both students and staff.

We look forward this week to welcoming back Bishop Mike Harrison, to lead us in our Easter services.

As we get closer to the Easter weekend, a prayer for Lent.

God who created me,
You offer me new life through your Son
and through the gift of your sacraments.
While I see new life all around me,
I don't always recognize the new life you offer me.
Help me to grow this Lent in an awareness
of the gifts you place in my life
and in a greater appreciation for your care.
Give me the courage to ask for help.

Amen
