Message from the Headteacher

Monday 21 May 2018

All our travellers returned safe and sound over the weekend, having had perfect weather for site seeing and hiking. Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award had uncharacteristically excellent conditions for the practice expedition (though I expect that there will be some rosy cheeks this morning). Our Year 9 students who had a very early start on Friday morning returned safely after their visit to Iepen, Belgium. Pictured here is one of our students with family connections to those who lost their lives and are named on the Ypres Memorial, laying a wreath to remember the fallen.

This week we say farewell to our Year 11 students. Of course they return for a few more weeks of examinations after half-term (and for some revision sessions over the holiday – click here to see the schedule) but on Friday after their English Literature Exam they will share one last assembly together before an afternoon of reward and relaxation as a year group with their Head of Year and form tutors.

To catch up on all our news and successes please keep your eyes out for our half-termly newsletter Aspire, which comes out on Friday.

Let’s hope the weather holds for the second May Bank Holiday and the half-term break.
