Teaching Assistant
Required September 2023
Part-time between 15 - 28 hours per week, 38 weeks (minimum 2.5 days, term time only). Initially fixed term until 31 August 2024, with the potential for a permanent appointment subject to future student support requirements.
Full-time equivalent salary Spinal points 3 - 4 : £20,812-£21,189 FTE (Based on April 2022 payscales, review pending). Actual starting salary £6,978-£13,342, dependent upon working hours.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a strong and dedicated team who make a significant contribution to the success of young people in our school. Our team of teaching assistants, led by our Special Educational Needs Coordinator, work alongside teachers to support students within and outside the classroom.
Teaching Assistants provide support to the teacher and through this to pupils and to the teaching of the curriculum. Teaching Assistants work under the direction of the Teacher, whether with the whole class, a small group, or an individual pupil, to ensure that all pupils achieve their full potential.
You will be a well organised good communicator with good teamwork skills. You will be competent in literacy and numeracy, and be able to adapt according to the needs of the students and situations you will be working with.

This is an exciting opportunity for graduates who are looking for experience in education in order to make a successful application for further training e.g. teachers or educational psychologists.
While undertaking a training year and gaining valuable school experience you will provide support for students in their learning and make a significant contribution to the extra-curricular life of the school

20 hours over 4 days per week, 38 or 39 hours per week (Term time, may include PD days).
Hours required : 9:30am - 2:30pm Mondays - Thursdays
Actual pro-rata salary £9,472- £10,260
